Neuroinclusive Internship Program
Build Experience. Make an Impact. Help Create More Neuroinclusive Communities.
About Our Internship Program
The CNDCC is seeking interns who want to gain meaningful, hands-on experience while contributing to our mission of creating more neuroinclusive workplaces and communities throughout Colorado.
Before You Apply
This is an unpaid internship designed to provide educational, professional, and career development opportunities. There is no expectation of compensation or employee benefits for participation in the internship, and participation does not guarantee or create an entitlement to future employment with CNDCC.
We recognize that unpaid internships may not be accessible to everyone, particularly individuals who face financial or systemic barriers to professional opportunities. If an unpaid internship is not a viable option for you at this time, we understand and hope you'll consider CNDCC for future opportunities as our organization continues to grow.
Interns will work alongside CNDCC staff, receive guidance and feedback, and have opportunities to contribute to meaningful projects while developing skills aligned with their professional and career goals.
Students seeking academic credit are encouraged to work with their college, university, or training program. CNDCC is happy to support appropriate internship documentation when possible.
We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds and encourage you to apply.
Our Neuroinclusive Approach
CNDCC values different ways of thinking, communicating, learning, processing information, and working.
Our internship program is designed to provide flexibility, clarity, and opportunities for interns to use their individual strengths while building new skills.
Interns can expect:
Clear written expectations and project instructions
Flexible scheduling within agreed-upon project needs and deadlines
Primarily remote work
Regular check-ins for guidance, questions, and feedback
Opportunities for independent and project-based work
Multiple ways to communicate, including email, messaging, shared documents, virtual meetings, and other agreed-upon methods
Advance information about meetings and projects when possible
Opportunities to ask questions and request clarification
Feedback that is clear, specific, and focused on learning and development
Reasonable accommodations when needed
We do not expect every intern to communicate, organize, learn, or work in the same way.
Some internships involve more written communication, while others may include occasional verbal communication, virtual meetings, or optional in-person opportunities. Each internship description explains the types of communication and participation applicants can expect.
You do not need to meet every qualification to apply. If you're excited about the opportunity and believe your experiences align with the role, we encourage you to submit an application.
